I once had a notebook that contained 25 years (or more) of poems etc...
sadly the thief who thought our home had valuables (boy was he disappointed) thought the heavy briefcase under the bed must contain valuable stuff... To me it was, but him useless...but I regress. I visited my homepage at my local ISP and found these, so I share with the knowledge they are from an untrained hand...

DAYDREAMER

On rainy days I sit and dream,
of butterflies and dragon's wings;
I dream of times when things were sure,
of villians wicked and maidens pure.

At times my mind will slip away,
to pirate ships and galley slaves;
I rescue maidens and free the men,
I battle demons and always win.

And then I slip into castles bold,
I kill the giants and take their gold;
I save the town in the valley low,
from great Red Dragons and then I go.

And as the sun distrubes my shade,
and all my daydreams begin to fade;
Today I'll work, I'll sweat, I'll strain,
And wait...until again it rains.

STARDREAMER

By light of stars we find our dreams,
May the Stars shine bright for you;
By Dreams we see our hopes fulfill,
May your Dreams "Of Good" come true.

So to the Stars each night do look,
and dream the "Dream of Peace";
until that day when all is right,
and wars and chaos cease.

By Light of Star and Hope of Dream,
we will journey on our way;
and hand-in-hand the strength we'll find,
for each and every day.

THE TRUE LIGHT

Space is in chaos;
Everything is trumoil:
Planets fly wildly,
No direction or purpose.

The Sun brings order;
Its influence great:
Order dominates,
and chaos retreats.

The earth is dark;
Mass confusion abounds:
Destruction runs rampart,
and storms are everywhere.

Light enters the world;
Darkness flees:
From destruction,
great beauty appears.

A life is born;
Confusion, panic, fear:
Soul in chaos,
and all seems lost.

Son touches life;
Driving out dark:
Soul basks in light,
and peace soothes the heart.

Chaos is Gone...
Darkness is Gone...
The Son Shines...
Peace Abounds...!

Very good work, Thumrok. They remind me of some other poems from our great ROE admin/creator, sometimes known as Huan, Dudly, Amelia and Old Sleepy Cat. They are thought provoking and perhaps a bit too true not to hurt a tender heart.

I wrote something similar for class once, unfortunately it was not half as good ; )

Kind words ... much appreciated. Over 25+ years I wrote a notebook full, and they all were for special occasions. Never could do a decent one when the teacher said; this topic, this type, you got 30 minutes, GO...If I manage to find any more that I saved somewhere or transfered to some other document I will strain your eyes again...

I found one I wrote for my father one Father's Day and later used in our church's bulletin; which I wrote for several years. I said it before, most of my work has a special person or event on the other end of it.

If you are blessed with good parents...Tell them while you can, and be like them as much as you can to your children.

If not; when you have children...be the kind of parent; your children will consider themself blessed to have one like.

My Friend

I have a friend who played with me,
when I was but a lad;
He taught me how to ride a bike,
and oh the fun I had.

My friend would tell me stories,
or read one with such style;
and sometimes even be my pony,
for a little while.

My friend; he taught me manners,
and what was right and wrong;
He taught me how to play nice,
and how to get along.

My friend would pat me on the back,
when I did something smart;
and be my shoulder to cry on;
when my world fell apart.

At times He'd wear his stern face,
and sometimes look quite mad;
and sometimes he would punish me,
when I was acting bad.

But; I knew that my friend loved me,
cause he always let me know;
and even through his darkest moods,
his love for me would show.

And as I grew I noticed that,
he slid from front to rear;
and quitely let me know that I,
could lead my life from here.

Now we might sometimes disagree,
but I'll love him till the end;
for my friend, he is my Father,
and my Father Is My FRIEND.

What a beautiful tribute to your father. I am going to give it to my daughter who is raising a 5yo son on her own so she can garner the help she needs to get their life in harmony.
